Membership of Derby Magic Circle is available to anyone over the age of 14 years who has a genuine interest in magic.
We meet at Breadsall Village Memorial Hall, Derby, on the 4th Wednesday of each month except in December when we don't hold a meeting. At these meetings we have lectures from well known magicians and dealer demonstrations. The programme of events is always published at the A.G.M. which is the March meeting night. It is also listed in the Sorcerer magazine which is Derby Magic Circle's own in-house magazine that is published on a regular basis to members. You will also find details from the programme link page. These meetings, with the exception of the A.G.M. are open to members of other recognised magic societies and people with a genuine interest in magic upon payment of a visitor's fee.
As well as the lecture/meeting nights, we also hold 'Special Lectures' from visiting overseas lecturers as they become available. These are open to anyone upon payment of the entrance fee. These fall outside the regular meeting nights and are publicised to other societies, on the internet and in the circle's newsletter.
Having applied for membership, the applicant performs an audition before the committee of the circle to show a degree of magical knowledge and if successful, they usually become a probationary member of the circle for a 1 year period after which their membership is reviewed.
